Phuket is the largest island in Thailand, located 862 km from Bangkok. It is inhabited by approximately 380,000 residents.
East of Phuket, on the mainland, is the city of Krabi, and to the southeast you will find the tiny island of Koh Phi Phi. Phuket is connected to the Thai mainland by two bridges located in the island’s northern area.
Phuket maintains a developed tourism industry and is considered to be one of the most popular holiday spots in southeast Asia. Pa Tong Beach, located in the western part of the island, is the centre of Phuket’s nightlife, with arguably the best nightlife in the country, rivaled only by Pattaya, which is located east of Bangkok. Approximately 90% of the tourists visiting Thailand spend between 4 days to a month on average on the island of Phuket and on the neighbouring islands.
